Peace and war

War is a terrible thing. Too many people die in wars. Lots of solders and innocent people become disabled persons, lose their arms and legs, or even die. War’s not only a humanitarian catastrophe, but also it’s bad for countries’ economies: if thousands of young men die on the frontline, there will be no labor force to rebuild the country after the war. Also, when a war starts, the government can turn civil factories into military ones. They can also restrict the freedom of the press and the freedom of speech for their citizens. BUT. Sometimes countries can’t prevent the war. If an aggressor attacks you, it’s not you who must stop the war, but them. Some people say, that ”our government should stop or prevent the Second Artsakh war at any cost”, but that’s crazy in my opinion. What if Azerbaijan wanted to get the whole Artsakh in exchange for not starting a new war? Should we give them Artsakh without a single drop of blood? Would that be fair to heroes, who fell fighting for Artsakh in 90’s? I don’t think so. Ukraine’s situation is similar: Some people say, that Ukraine could prevent the current conflict, if they gave Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea to Russia. I don’t think that they should. If you try to calm down the aggressor by giving little “presents” to it, then it will start wanting even more! France and the UK gave Austria and the half of territories of Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany before they realized, that they allowed Hitler to become stronger and start the WW2. So the world should prevent the repeating of the history. So, as I think, if you say, that Armenian or Ukrainian governments should prevent wars at any price, then you blame the victims.
